Encountering Jesus as a Teenager
When I was fifteen, I attended a youth retreat in Southern California where I first heard the good news of Jesus. I discovered that His invitation meant both eternal life and an abundant life here and now. Soon after, I began attending church and youth group regularly, eager to grow in my new relationship with God.
The Power of Discipleship
Not long after that retreat, a man named Mike invited me into an intentional disciple-making relationship. He taught me how to read the Bible, pray, and live for Jesus. But more than that, he trained me to put what I was learning into practice right away and to share it with my friends. Before long, I was helping lead others to Christ, and they in turn began leading their own friends. What Mike had passed on to me was multiplying—and it changed the entire direction of my life.
What Jesus Calls Us To Do
That early experience taught me what Jesus calls all of us to do: to be with Him, become like Him, and go make disciples who make disciples.
