Meet Pastor Richard Majambere, one of the pastors faithfully leading new churches in Western Uganda
My Christian Background
I grew up in the church of my parents, fellowshipping in the Anglican Church. From a young age, this Christian background grew my love for God, even though I did not yet know Christ as my personal Savior. As I became an adult and could read and understand the Bible for myself, I realized I needed a personal relationship with Jesus and to accept Him as my Savior.
My Salvation Journey
At 25 years old, I confessed Jesus as my Lord and Savior and made a decision to begin my own personal journey of faith, separate from that of my parents. With a growing desire to know Jesus more deeply, I stayed close to the pastor at the new church I was attending. He guided me and showed me much love. After two years, I began leading the youth team at our church and also joined the pastoral team.
My Call to Leadership
After four years of serving, I felt a strong call from God to move into church leadership. When I shared this with my pastor, he was very encouraging. He introduced me to pastoral support activities, and through this I met Pastor Syliver and Naphtali, who came to teach us about the Disciple Making. Before this, I had already attended some of there Expand’s conferences as an assistant pastor at Bweyendere Community Church.
Planting Kyampisi Community Church
In January 2024, I and a team started Kyampisi Community Church, where I now serve as the senior pastor. Today, I shepherd 17 families. Every quarter, we baptize about 4–5 people who commit their lives to Christ. One of the great joys of my ministry is that my own father accepted Jesus and now fellowships with us. Throughout the year, we also dedicate newborn children when parents bring them; we usually receive 2–3 child dedications each month.
Grateful for Expand and God’s Faithfulness
I feel truly blessed to be a pastor. I am very thankful to Expand for supporting me as one of the first students and graduates of the Mobile Bible School. Through the training, I have been shaped and prepared for the calling God has given me. I have learned leadership for the church from the Bible school. I am excited to continue this journey, trusting that the Lord will remain faithful to provide and equip me for the work He has entrusted to me.
