As a case worker, Kim comes across people in desperate situations every day. Her work is not typically one where she can share the Gospel in words, but it is ministry all the same. A few months ago, Goldie called Kim’s office; as a domestic violence survivor, Goldie was in need of some support. That’s when Kim felt a nudge – the Holy Spirit – saying she needed to step in.
When Expand Network came to Kim’s church to teach the Discipleship Journey training, it showed her that there was more she could do for Goldie. The tools she learned helped her reach out in a more tangible way. Kim gave her new friend a Bible – and they began talking through a verse each evening together.
Soon, Goldie came with Kim to church. She said she felt a need to spend more time with other believers – and that being at church made her feel welcome and comfortable after all she’d been through.
Kim says her story isn’t over. She’s already on the lookout for the next person to work with – and she says she trusts that God will guide her.
