Each month, when Therese and her team of volunteers from Woodburn Christian Church walk into their local school building, they are greeted with hugs, smiles, and excitement.
A few years ago, Expand Network led a training at this church – and Therese realized her congregation could do more to reach their community. Now, God is using her willing heart to turn a local middle school into a vibrant ministry hub.
Since being trained and encouraged by Expand Network and Sean Thomé, Reach Out Ministry – headed by Therese – has provided meals, Christmas gifts, mentoring, and more to the teachers and at-risk students at a nearby school. These students are at a higher-than-average risk for homelessness and gang membership. The support of a local church could very well change the course of their lives.
