January 13, 2024: Farewell Uganda!

Praise Update:

1. Before heading to the airport, the team made one last trip to say farewell to brothers and sisters in Kachuwanga.

2. The team had such an amazing time in Uganda encouraging pastors, training disciples and visiting church planters and their churches and hearing their dreams and vision for Gods kingdom expansion through disciple making, Bible training and economic sustainability.

Please pray for safe travels. PNW is experiencing a taste of winter. Please pray for safe travels and smooth transitions home.

January 12, 2024: Last Day of Ministry

Praises Update:

1. The team had an AMAZING day of visiting churches, encouraging pastors and meeting with people to dream about economic development.  Thank you for praying.

2. In addition, the team was able to visit a medical clinic and get a fresh haircut before our returning trip home!

Prayer Request:

1. The final day is never easy.  Tomorrow we will drive out one more time to the village and say goodbye to the Kachungwa Community Church.  Please pray for God to comfort hearts on both sides until we see one another again.

2. Our flight will leave 11:55pm Saturday evening and expected to arrive Sunday @ 11:00am back in Portland, OR.  Please pray for safe travels and for the PNW incoming weather not to be an issue.

January 11, 2024: Day of Encouragement

Praise Update:

1. Ken, Naphtalie & Eric were able to spend the day visiting with three different pastors and learning about their business.

2. Ken, Pastor Sylver & Sean were able to visit two churches, share a word of encouragement and visit with the pastors.

Prayer Requests:

1. The teams continue to visit with pastors, encouraging them and learning of their businesses.  As we enter into our last day of ministry, please pray for God to continue to use us to be of an encouragement and to gain wisdom.

2. Pray for continued health and energy to finish the trip strong.

January 10, 2024: AMAZING DAY!

Praise Update:

1. The team finished up the three day pastoral training today.

2. Every pastor and leader was prayed over and commissioned to continue to expand God’s kingdom by loving one person at time.

3. Every pastor and leader was given a new Bible in their local language.

Prayer Requests for Next Two Days:

1. Brandon, Eric & Napthali will be visiting with pastors who are interested in learning more about the future of economic development.  Please pray for God’s wisdom to lead them.

2. Ken, Sean & Pastor Sylver will be visiting and to preach at four churches.  Please pray God uses them to encourage the pastors and churches.

January 9, 2024: Powerful Day of God’s Spirit

Praise Update:

1. Some of the team was able to spend the day researching potential possibilities to help equip our pastors to become self-sustaining in the future.

2. Day 2 of the Conference: God equipped our pastors to become intentional in seeking ways to be outreached focused, committed to creating a loving family of Jesus and intentional in developing a disciple making strategy.

Prayer Requests:

1. Pray for wisdom and divine appointments for our team as they continue to research possibilities in helping our pastors become self-sustaining.

2. Pray for God to speak clearly to our pastors on what they are hearing from this conference and specific steps they will apply as they return to their churches tomorrow.

Highlights:

Eric and Brandon went and toured Peter Biiji’s coffee plantation. He has over 10 acres and around 7000 coffee plants. He taught us the growing process and explained prices at different stages of the value added steps.

Next Brandon and Eric went to a fairly new maize mill in the trading center of Sixteen. The pastor who runs it showed us how it all works and again how prices benefit from adding value to the final product.

January 8, 2024: God is moving! Day one of the Pastor’s Conference

Praise Update:

1. Today was the first of three days of pastoral training.  We praise God for the 65 people that are attending!
2. The Pastors were trained in two areas today:  “Glorifying God”  and  “Abiding in Jesus.”
3. The Pastors were overwhelmed by the love, support and encouragement received by the team.

Prayer Requests:

1. Pray for Ken & Sean as they lead the pastors training on “Engaging Communities for Jesus” and “Committing to the Marks of a Biblical community.”
2. Pray for Eric & Brandon as they begin conversations and exploration for the development of the economic development team.

Highlights:

January 7, 2024: Amazing day of being part of God’s Work

Praise Update:

1. All of us were able to be at different churches today to teach Sunday school classes, preach God’s Word and lead God’s people in Communion.

2. Bibles were handed out in every church and given to the church leaders for distribution to their church members.

3. Two people accepted Jesus today as Brandon shared the invitation to follow Jesus!

4. Bibles and rice were dropped off at the Prison on Saturday night, but due to the prison lockdown, Eric and the team were not able to enter in and be part of the chapel service. However, we are trusting God is in charge and will use the Bibles and the rice to bless to each of the prisoners.

Prayers for Monday:

1. For the next three days, we will host pastoral training for 65 pastors and leaders. Pray that God uses our team to encourage and equip each leader in the topics of glorifying God and abiding in Jesus.

2. Pray for safe travels for our church leaders and that they come in with open and eager hearts to hear from Jesus.

January 6, 2024: Bibles, Rice and Encouraging Local Churches

Praise Update:

1. Eric has his hearing back and feeling back to normal.

2. Wonderful time of fellowship with sponsor children and church family

3. We had an amazing meeting with the Pastoral Support Mission team for our yearly update and clarity on 2024 vision of Bible training and sustainability programming.

4. We have begin distributing Bibles! This morning, Pastor Sylver, Naptalie and Didas separated Bibles to pass out to members of three churches as well as inmates at the prison on Sunday.  A second distribution will be later this week as we visit other churches.

5.  We purchased 500lbs of rice to be delivered as a special meal for the inmates at Muyinayina Prison in the Mubende District.

Prayer Request:

1. All of us will be preaching at three different churches and the prison, leading communion service and passing out Bibles.
2. Pray for wisdom to speak words of encouragement and for God to move in powerful ways.

January 5, 2024: Made it safely to Mubende.

Praise Update

We had a wonderful dinner with Pastor Sylver, the leaders from Kachungwa Community Church and the team from the Bible mobilization program.

Prayers:

Tomorrow the team is heading to Kachungwa to meet with sponsored children and the Pastoral Support Mission leaders.  Please pray for wisdom and direction.

January 4, 2024: Good Productive Day

Praise report:

1. The team is feeling better and getting over the jet lag and looking to a good night of sleep. 2. Good productive day of visiting with church leaders about partnership for kingdom expansion and future sustainability training; gathering common supplies for this weekend and visiting with Uganda friends and sponsored children.

Prayers:

1. Safe travels to Mubende tomorrow 2. For God to give wisdom in upcoming meeting for Bible mobilization training.
