Church Planting Process

Expand is committed to equipping church planters through a collaborative process of assessment, training, and coaching. From building relationships and evaluating alignment to in-depth assessments and final partnership approval, Expand walks alongside planters every step of the way. Through intentional connection (Acts 13:1-3), we help leaders plant healthy, thriving churches that expand God’s kingdom.

Church Planting Process
The church planting process begins by creating intentional space for building relationships through prayer, personal connection, and sharing kingdom stories. It starts with spending time with potential planters, learning their stories, and establishing a foundation of trust and prayer for their next steps.
Engage in an online initial screening assessment to explore church planting experience, entrepreneurial leadership, ministry background, and relational evangelism. This step helps identify a potential planter’s readiness and aptitude for the journey ahead.
Walk through Expand’s “DNA” which includes our overview, online application, and a multi-step interview process to ensure alignment with Expand’s mission, vision, beliefs, and core values. This includes reference checks and intentional conversations with the Expand Team.
Participate in an approved church planter assessment designed to affirm the planter’s calling through an in-depth evaluation process, followed by additional reviews from the Expand Team and Executive Leadership.
Meet with the Expand Board of Directors for final approval, enter into a covenant partnership, and stepp forward with Expand to launch a new church.
